Learning Goal: Scan web sites to find information. Know what is being looked for ahead of time to focus the search for information from a web site. Practice basic presentation program skills.

Directions.

1. You are going to go to a web site on amphibians that live in Point Reyes CA, not far from here. You will be making a presentation on

a. What an amphibian is.

b. What amphibians live in Point Reyes.

Look at the presentation map sheet before going to the web site. Think about what you will be looking for . Go to the web site and write answers you find on the presentation map sheet.

2. Make a simple four slide presentation on Amphibians in Point Reyes from what you found. You may search for images for your slides as part of making you presentation.

4th gr. Assignment #32

Learning goal: Practice using the presentation program.

Directions:

1. Download the image from the blog here to your desktop.

2. Open a new blank presentation.

3. Insert the text given below in green, insert the image you saved to the desktop and change the slide background color.

Question: Were the Missions a good thing?

Answer: Some think yes, many think no. Many people think the Missions were a really bad experience for the Native Americans.

Learning goal: Choose information from web pages with a goal in mind. Learn not to collect too many random facts.

Tasks:

1. Download the worksheet, open it have it ready, then minimize it. Worksheet click here.

2. The worksheet asks you to go to two web sites to get answers for the questions. Click on the links below to get to each site:

site one: Reasons for shabbos

site two : How to prepare for shabbos

3. Put your answers on the worksheet in bold and italic. Do not put the questions on the worksheet in bold and italic, just your writing. Print it with your name before you make your presentation slides.

2. Go to the podcast site and listen to a podcast called Cyberbullying talk #1″. Podcast site click here.

3. Find answers for the questions on the worksheet from the podcast. Listen to it more than once if neededm pause it ask questions. Use full sentences for answers, PUT YOUR ANSWERS ONLY in bold and italic. Make sure your name is on it, print it when done.

Learning Goal: Students will learn by exploring and doing:.

Students will know how to open a new presentation, insert text insert images and change slide colors on a presentation program.

Directions:

1. Make sure to have the guide in your hands.. Go to the podcast and have it ready. The podcast gives you instructions on how to do today’s task. The podcast is called “Presentation Guide 1.” Podcast site click here.

2. You are going to practice making a one slide presentation like the example Mr. Litt showed you. Follow the guide and/ or the podcast to help you.

Do these four things:

open a new presentation,

insert the words below in green into your slide,

insert the image on this post

and change the slide background color.

Question: What cities in California are named after the mission that was there?

Answer: Many cities still are three examples are Santa Barbabra, San Rafael and San Francisco.

Learning Goals:

*Learn what a “presentation” is, how it is different than a document in two fundamental ways (1.it needs to be main points only and 2. it can be used more artistically as words and images can be moved around easily.)

*Learn how to make a basic presentation slide inserting words, images and making a background

Directions:

1. Download the worksheet here, open it have it ready. Note: There are no questions to answer on it, it guides you through activities, so read it and follow directions. Worksheet click here.

2. When you are done with everything on the worksheet and have made a simple two slide presentation, insert the images from this blog entry to the presentation slides. Remember to click on the images to go to larger versions, then save them to the computer. You do this by right clicking your mouse and choosing “save image as”. After you save it you can insert it into the presentation slides.
